Committee Chair:  Rosemary Almonte

Law Clerk, U.S. Department of Labor

Rosemary is the Chair of the Youth Outreach Committee.  This committee shall (A) conduct activities aimed at implementing the purposes of the Association relating to youth outreach, including the organization of the Association’s Law Day events, and (B) perform such other tasks as the Board may request.

Rosemary is a nearly-lifelong Bronxite who immigrated from the Dominican Republic at the age of five. A product of the New York City public school system, Rosemary graduated from New York City’s Columbia University in 2009 and is a 2017 graduate of CUNY School of Law in Long Island City, New York. 

During law school, Rosemary was Co-Editor of the Public Interest Practitioners Section of the City University of New York Law Review; Social Action Chair of the Latin American Law Student Association; Student Representative on the Decanal Search Committee; and Law Student Mentor as part of the Black Law Student Association’s mentorship initiative. Rosemary was also recipient of the Dominican Bar Association’s 2014 Law Student Scholarship; the CUNY University Student Senate’s Graduate Peer Mentoring Scholarship and its Ernesto Malavet Merit Scholarship; and the CUNY Vice Chancellor’s Excellence in Leadership Award. 

Since graduating from CUNY School of Law, Rosemary has been working in the field of labor and employment litigation. Rosemary is also a member of the Sex and Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association and a member of the Labor & Employment and Young Lawyers’ Sections of the New York State Bar Association.
